Day 2 & 8 Testing and Day 2 Testing for International Arrivals
This test is required by the UK Government if you are arriving in the UK from overseas. It is a mandatory requirement for everyone arriving in the UK (unless you are specifically exempt):
- If you are coming back from an amber-listed country : take a Covid-19 PCR test on or before Day 2 (day 0,1 or day 2 the latest ) of your self-isolation period, followed by another test on or after Day 8 (day 8, 9 or 10 at the latest). The day of your arrival is considered day 0.
- Test to release – on Day 5, after return to UK from a amber listed country to reduce your 10 day quarantine. On receiving a negative result, you will be able to leave self-isolation early.
- If you are returning from a green-listed country : you can take advantage of a Day 2 Only test. This is performed on day 0, day 1 or day 2 at the latest ) . The day of your arrival is considered day 0.
Day 2 Only for Fully Vaccinated Amber Arrivals : The government recently set out the details to enable UK residents who have been fully vaccinated with an NHS administered vaccine to travel to amber list countries without having to quarantine on their return to UK
