VI Peel Frequently Asked Questions

Your skin will look slightly tan or bronzed immediately after the peel due to the retinoic acid. This fades within the hour. Over the next few days your skin will feel tighter and pigmented areas may appear slightly darker. Skin peeling usually begins at day three. It’s a light fluffy peeling and it is easily controlled with moisturizer. In some cases the peel is virtually invisible. Patients on Retin-A may experience heavier peeling. By day 6-7 you will be completely done peeling and your skin will look amazing.

We recommend avoiding heavy sweating for the first few days after the peel. Normal activities may be resumed immediately after the peel. It’s also advisable to keep sun exposure to a minimum when skin is peeling. 

It is a blend of five acids:TCA,Salicylic Acid, Retin-A, and Vitamin C as ascorbic acid. The blend means VI Peel does not require prior skin conditioning or the painkillers normally used with other chemical peels.

Once the peeling has finished, your skin should appear more radiant and toned. You will notice a significant decrease in the appearance of blemishes and other skin conditions. Also, acne is often reduced and becomes more manageable after the VI Peel. 

No, it does not burn. Some patients might experience a slight stinging sensation but only for a few seconds.
