A specialist mental health Prescribing Pharmacist and a Psychotherapist specialising in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I also hold an Executive MBA (EMBA) from Cass Business School.

In addition, I have a special interest in supplements and natural remedies and I am trained in administering vitamins through Intravenous (IV) Infusions and in conducting Blood Testings.

I am registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPHC) and am an accredited member of the National Counseling Society (NCS).

I started my career as a pharmacist working in the community, progressing to pharmacy then store manager for one of the largest independent pharmacies in central London. I then joined a leading mental health hospital in central London as pharmacy manager. After qualifying as a CBT therapist from the College of Cognitive Behavioral Therapies (CCBT) in central London, I started working as a psychotherapist on a part time basis in addition to my role as a Pharmacist at the hospital.

I am currently based at Zen Pharmacy & Clinic Baker street where I am Superintendent Pharmacist and also operate my Psychotherapy CBT practice ‘Zen CBT’.

I see my overall mission as using my skills and knowledge in order to improve patients’ physical and mental wellbeing.

The form of CBT I specialise in is Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT). Its focus is on identifying unhealthy emotion(s) and turning them into healthy one(s). By doing so, clients are able to grow, unlock their potential and have a more fulfilling life.

The therapy is considered short term, goal orientated and solution focused. The aim is for individuals to become their own therapist.

In therapy, I integrate various techniques when needed including Hypnotherapy, NLP, Assertiveness, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

I have successfully helped people with:

  • Various anxiety disorders such as Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), social anxiety and performance anxiety.
  • Depression.
  • Anger issues.
  • Relationship problems.
  • Other emotions such as Hurt, Shame and Jealousy.

The advantage I have over most other CBT therapists are:

  • Being a qualified Prescriber which allows me is to prescribe medicines when needed.
  • My pharmacy background which enables me to have a good understanding of both the pharmacology of various conditions and of medicines used in treating them.
  • My interest and understanding of supplements and natural remedies.

From my years of experience and from medical evidence, the best outcome is often achieved by a combination of therapy, healthy lifestyle and medication. As a mental health pharmacist independent prescriber, I have experience in prescribing appropriate treatment to suit each individual based on the latest medical evidence and guidance. My approach is to avoid prescribing medicines and deal with presented issues with therapy alone, only using medicines as a last resort.
